May President’s Corner

By Dee Johnson, Seattle Chapter President

For those of you who didn’t make it to this year’s Tee-Off, you missed a great day! For those of you who attended, I hope you had as much fun as I did. Our Tee-Off is always such a happy occasion as it signals that spring is here (even though I saw a few snowflakes that morning). But most importantly, it’s the start of golf season. This year’s golf outing after the Tee-Off brunch wasn’t one of my most shining golf moments, but it most certainly was one the most fun days of golf I’ve had in awhile. I had the pleasure of golfing with someone I met a couple of years ago at league and someone I recently met and invited to join EWGA.

One of the great pleasures of being a member of EWGA is meeting new people and golfing with people of various levels. It was never as evident as on April 3. Even though this was not my best day on the course, I learned a great deal from one of our newest members who is an incredible golfer. I also learned how to laugh at myself and with my new friends. At the end of the day, I had a great sense of peace looking around at everyone enjoying drinks and appetizers in the clubhouse after a fun-filled day. And in the end isn’t that what life is about - enjoying each day? Thanks to the Tee-Off Committee - ladies, you did a wonderful job.

I’ll see you all on the course or in the 19th hole over the summer. I hope EWGA helps to provide each of you with days filled with pure enjoyment for the game and friends.
