By Paula Bachtold, Education Chair
Attention beginner and intermediate golfers. Details for clinics #3 “Strategies for the 1st Tee” and #4 “Getting to the Green in Fewer Shots” have been decided for our “Breaking 100” Series. These two sessions will be held at Heron Links in Redmond on Saturday May 1 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. The cost for this event is $60 and the instructor for this clinic is our own EWGA member and golf professional Val Patrick. The first hour of this two-hour session will help students learn how to overcome “first tee jitters” and get their round off to a better start. Topics covered will be how to warm up properly, how to prepare your mind for the first tee, and choosing a shot and club for the first tee. The second half of the session includes understanding how to “plan” a hole and choose clubs, understanding how to get out of the rough successfully, and learning how to use less than full swings (such as ˝ swings) to improve their overall score. Registration is available online. Questions can be directed to education@ewgaseattle.org or stop by and chat with us at the Spring Tee-Off.
More information regarding the final three clinics to follow.
