EWGA members and their guests met for a delightful evening at The Wine Alley in
Renton’s Fairwood Shopping Center on Wednesday, June 19th. It was the first of
two events to celebrate “2008 American Express Women’s Golf Month.”
This strictly social event gave us all a wonderful opportunity to get to know
some new members and guests while we enjoyed a special selection of golf themed
wines accompanied with cheese and crackers, in a friendly atmosphere. We had
fun sharing golf stories, discussing events and how we were doing in league
play. Overall this tasty event was a success.
Part two of our special observances of Women’s Golf Month took place on June
26th at Sturtevant’s in Bellevue.
EWGA members and guests gathered for an action-packed evening of “Socializing,
Learning and Shopping.”
EWGA member Val Patrick, a teaching professional at Puetz Golf in Seattle, led
a presentation on the rules and etiquette of golf. Along with lots of helpful
information for those new to the game and great reminders for more seasoned
golfers, she fielded questions from the audience. Participants also received
two handouts, one titled “Easy Way to Learn Golf Rules,” and a second pamphlet
on golf course etiquette.
There was plenty of time for networking and socializing while we enjoyed
refreshments of wine, cheese and fruit.
Following the seminar, Sturtevant’s, our Chapter’s “Birdie” sponsor, invited us
to shop in their well-appointed golf department, and extended a 10 percent
discount on all purchases.
