Another Year of League Play Winds Down
|
|
By Cathy Rouske
As we approach our last session of League play I have been thinking about what
it has meant to me to golf every Monday evening at The Nile for the past four
years.
The first answer was obvious, golfing with other women who love to golf, but in
my heart I think it has been the friendships made, maybe more so than the golf.
League play works in my opinion because the common denominator is golf and the
friendships made are icing on the cake.
I hope you have all been enjoying the great weather and golf, and are taking
time to enjoy the experience, smile at that new member, and make a new friend.
Congratulations to Tammy Curtis, Amy Brightman and Agueda Sanchez on their hole
in one achievement during the month of July (hope we didn’t miss anyone). Well
done, and how exciting. I want one! Maybe this trio can give us all tips on the
art of the swing and the trajectory of the ball into the cup.
We would like to also extend congratulations to all the winners in the Chapter
Championship and wish them the best of luck at upcoming semi-finals. A huge
thank you to Janet Young for doing an outstanding job running the event.
Kathy Wegner and I are still looking for two members to take over as League
Chair and Assistant League Chair. Please contact one of us, or anyone on the
board, if you are interested. We promise to train and work with you before
passing the baton. It is a great way to get involved and participate in the
EWGA.
Happy Hitting,
Cathy and Kathy
